Master's program East European Studies and Open Research Challenge 2017

Dear Sir or Madam,

We would like to inform you about two programs:

1.) For the 2017/18 winter semester, the Honours Master's program East European Studies is again offered jointly by the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) and the University of Regensburg (UR).
The aim of this Master’s program is to provide specialized regionally focused knowledge on Central, Southeastern and Eastern Europe. This includes a project course, tutorials, internships, a summer school intensive languages courses, and extracurricular seminars, all related to Eastern Europe.
Students of this four-semester interdisciplinary Master's program (120 ECTS) can select two or three subjects from the following list: European Ethnology, History, Jewish History and Culture, Political Science, Slavic Languages and Literatures, and Turkish and Ottoman Studies (at the LMU) as well as Comparative Literature, Legal Studies, History Slavic Languages and Literatures, and Political Economy (at the UR).
This program is part of the Elite Network Bavaria (Elitenetzwerk Bayern, ENB). It includes numerous Bavarian partner institutions related to Eastern Europe, such as the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies.
Admission requirements are a very good or good Higher Education Entrance Qualification (HEEQ), or foreign equivalent, very good knowledge of German good knowledge of English, and at least basic knowledge of one East European language. 2.) For the second time, Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is asking interested international researchers and their teams to participate in the Open Research Challenge to contribute to comprehensive medical care concepts. The focus of this year’s global online competition lies on personalized Medical Engineering in Gait Disorders – inviting advanced master students, doctoral candidates or postdoctoral researchers from all over the world.
